Up for sale is a rare tryptic lot of original Kitagawa Utamaro woodblock prints titled “Awabi” (Abalone) divers are taking a rest. This lovely lot of three different scenes are designed to display together and printed on thin sheets of paper. They’re each signed along the right edge and are mounted to a rectangular board. The prints measures 16 1/4 inches by 10 3/4 inches and the board they are mounted to measures 40 inches by 20 1/2 inches. Each print has some marks at the top from them being glued underneath to the board as shown in last photo. The board the prints are mounted to has damage and would need to be replaced.
