Hasui Kawase Japanese Woodblock Print Art Hanga Snow Japan 1922 Shinhanga Ukiyoe. Please check the picture. Born as the eldest son of a merchant of threadwork, his uncle was the playwright Kanagaki Roubun. He was a student of Kaburaki Kiyokata and received the name “Tomoe” at that time. He later became acquainted with Shozaburo Watanabe, and also became interested in woodblock prints after seeing “Eight Views of Omi” by Shinsui Ito, a fellow student of Kaburaki Kiyokata. In 1918, he published the Shiobara Trilogy from the Watanabe Print Shop, and thereafter published many landscape prints throughout his life. This is a Rare Japanese Woodblock Bijin print by Narita Morikane with red publishers and date seal Shinbisha lower left border. It is in nice condition with light toning and tape residue on top reverse.
