The woodblock print is under glass and in excellent condition. Its sight size measures 13.75 x 16.75 inches. The frame has some light surface rubs and measures 18.75 x 22.75 inches. Toshi Yoshida Set of 3 Woodblock Print Friendly Garden Japanese Pine Bamboo Plum

This set of three is called “the friendly garden” and they are among Yoshida’s most desired woodblocks. Published, printed, and carved by Yoshida, the three pieces are individually titled “pine tree”, “bamboo tree”, and “plum tree”, and were produced from 19 hand carved blocks. All three are signed in pencil lower right, “Yoshida Toshi” in kanji. Each one is framed in its original teak frame, measuring 31″x16″. Colors are bright with little to no fading. Frames have minor wear from storage. The silk matting has slight thread separation, but no major loss or damage. Minor scratching on the frame, Has 2 smudges on the linen matt, right hand side across from signature. Minor scratching on frame. Backing is coming off in a few places. Sea foam green matt. Mori Yoshitoshi (18981992) A Japanese artist who specialized in kappazuri stencil prints. He was for many years a member of the mingei folk craft movement, and was close with Yanagi Soetsu, founder of the movement, and Serizawa Keisuke, among others, producing stencil-dyed textiles and other textiles arts before turning to prints later in his career. Yoshitoshi is said to have influenced several major 20th century print artists, including Munakata Shiko and Takahashi Hiromitsu. Material = paper , glass in frame Condition= Normal (little stain). I was not able to find another online of this exact image so it is possibly a very rare version from the Night Scene Of Kitano series. The woodblock print is housed in a vintage Teak wood frame.
