Up for sale is a very rare and fine Utagawa Hiroshige woodblock entitled “Evening Shower at Tadasugawara” which is part of his “Views of Kyoto” series. This entire sheet measures approximately 14.75 x 10.25. Inches while the woodblock image measures 13.75 x 8.75 inches. This beautiful woodblock is signed in the lower right portion of the print. The detail and color are wonderful and while the margins have succumb to some minor loss it is in very nice condition. This is a rare print and one that belongs in a collection or home where it will be appreciated. Beautifully framed in a thin light colored wood frame that measures 20 x 15 inches it still has its original matting which I would recommend changing. The woodblock has been mounted onto what looks like a piece of matting. The margins also show some imperfections and loss to the low right and left corners. The images provided do accurately represent the condition, beauty and quality of this Hiroshige woodblock.
