Vintage Framed Japanese Woodblock Print Cherry Blossoms by Kawarazaki Shodo
Author: adminApr 12
Vintage Framed Japanese Woodblock Print “Cherry Blossoms” by Kawarazaki Shodo. Gorgeous original Vintage Japanese Woodblock by Kawarazaki Shodo of a Cherry Blossom “Somei Yoshino”. This is an original woodblock print, with multiple stamps and signatures. This work is framed and matted under glass and is one of a total of four other prints in this selection that I have listed. All prints carry the artist’s seal within the image area, the title in upper left margin, publisher, printer and carver seals in lower left margin. Each print has been carefully printed in 15 to 20 steps. He also studied Japanese painting under Shibahara, though it was his teacher Kishyo who helped cultivate Shodo’s original style of expression. Shodo is undoubtedly known for his botanical prints, especially his flowers, which he produced post-war Japan in the 1950′s. Measurements: Frame: 21 1/4 x 16 1/2 x 1. Condition: Very good condition. Colors show very moderate fading, but overall colors are still fresh, considering the age. Professionally framed and matted under glass in a nice black lacquered wood frame. Frame has some chips to the paint. All items for sale are vintage or antique and it may show evidence of wear. Please see condition report and photos. I try to describe the items to the best of my ability. All listings are described as to the best of my knowledge, through careful research and price and description comparison. Shiro Kasamatsu original signed stamped woodblock print /cherry blossom beauty
Author: adminMar 7
Shiro Kasamatsu signed woodblock print cherry blossom numbered #27. His signature in Japanese along left margin and in English lower right in pencil. Back is numbered in pencil; #27. Beautiful print cherry blossom tree along water with the lights of building/home shining though the night. This is an original on a delicate paper. Stamped on lower left. Difficult to tell if English signature was done by Shiro, and was self published, or may have been done by Watanabe(a publisher) after the Great Pacific War. Check catalog of Andreas Grund for more detailed information…. I have not been able to get my hands on it yet, and anyone who has I’d be interested to find out more! He did create 119 self published prints that are limited editions, and because this one is numbered on the back it leads me to believe it may be part of his self published collection. Those prints were made from 50-300 per collection. These were done in the sosaku hanga style, and also done at the end of his career. This specific print is not easy to find, so is a rare beauty!!!! I hope you will enjoy this serene woodblock print done from Tokyo!!!! Print was previously owned and is in excellent condition. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. Toshi Yoshida Woodblock Cherry Blossoms
Author: adminJan 15
This design was originally published in 1970 by the Yoshida Hanga Studio. We are offering a posthumously printed image, made from the original blocks, and acquired directly from the Yoshida family. While it is signed in the block, it still looks like it is pencil signed to an untrained eye. To avoid any misunderstanding, the Yoshida Hanga Studio also included the seal of the printer on the reverse. The image measures 11.75 x 19.5 inches, plus full margins. The condition is excellent. Toshi Yoshida was the oldest son of shin hanga print master Hiroshi Yoshida. Up until his father passed away in 1950, Toshi Yoshida primarily produced works that were reminiscent of his father? His later works include a wide assortment of subjects, styles and techniques. Don’t settle for a giclee or other mechanical reproduction. These woodblock prints are made using the same printing process as the original pencil signed run, under the supervision of the artist’s family and meeting their exacting standards. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. The seller is “floatingworldgallery” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.
