Japanese Woodblock / Katsuda. Early serigraph by well regarded Japanese artist Yukio Katsuda (1941-). A master artist and printmaker, Katsuda’s work has been exhibited throughout Japan and internationally, and is in the permanent collections of multiple museums including the Art Institute of Chicago that has an extensive collection of his works. On offer is a lovely floral measuring approximately 7 x 9 1/4 inches. The work is matted and displayed in an attractive gold frame with a bamboo like molding. Framed, the piece measures 14 x 16 1/2 inches. The artist typically did not title his works, but rather assigned them successive production numbers. This piece is number 103 and dates to 1977. It is number 91 in a limited edition of 100. The work is pencil signed and dated by the artist on the lower right hand corner and number / edition size are noted on the left. This work has not been examined out of the frame but it appears to be in excellent condition. There is no toning, foxing, or other issues seen.
