The first edition was published in 1906-08 and exhibited at the Japan-England Exposition (1910). The exquisite and luxurious woodblock printing technique, which is said to have required 200 times repeated woodblocks to complete a single print, is considered worthy of special mention in the history of Japanese woodblock printing.
