Each woodblock print was made in the form of a gift card and includes a matching envelope. Each is printed on good quality Japanese washi paper, and includes a title and scene number. They are not posthumous restrikes, but life-time editions. April 27, 1907 – November 14, 1997, born in. In 1938, he issued his first prints in his now famous “Winter in Aizu” series. Saito was one of the first Japanese. Artists to have won at the São Paulo Biennale in 1951. Sait’s early works depict villages populated with local Japanese with a high degree of.
