Woodblock Print, “BAMBOO TREE of The Friendly Garden” by Toshi Yoshida, Part of Triptych, Teak Frame, Japan. Condition is Used, but MINT. This BAMBOO TREE is one third of a triptych by Toshi Yoshida called The Friendly Garden. Each print has a different theme – Plum, Bamboo, Pine. However, I do not have the third part of the triptych, the Pine Tree. This is so beautiful! It is ready to hang! The print is pencil signed in Japanese. Also, it has a Japanese stamp and signature on the print. The matting is pure silk. Framed measurement: 31 by 16. ” Actual Print showing: 19.5″ by 10. Hiroyuki Tajima (Tajima Hiroyuki, 19111984) was a Japanese printmaker of the ssaku-hanga school. He was born in Tokyo and graduated from Nihon University in 1932. In 1943, he graduated from the Western-style painting division of the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. He created his first print in 1946, and joined the Bijutsu Bunka Kyokai (a group of abstract and surrealist artists) the same year. He also studied Nagase Yoshi (18911978), an artist of the Ssaku-hanga school. In 1963, he became a member of the Nihon Hanga Kyokai (Japanese Print Association).
