Vintage Kiyoshi Saito Woodblock Print From The Series Winter In Aizu. Wonderful signed woodblock print circa. 1960 by Kiyoshi Saito (19071997). Colors are still vibrant. The image was stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment for decades. Its framed with UV protective glass in a tasteful, 70s period frame. The image was removed from the frame to confirm condition by a professional. No discoloration, frame-burn or damage on the image side. Some tape residue on the reverse side of the image (see pic) appears to predate the current framing, which employs acid-free tape. Notations on the back of the imagelower leftare in Japanese with Arabic numbering related to the print run and image number. From an Estate in Greenwich, CT. The print can be sent within its current frame, or rolled and sent within a plastic tube. Signed in pencil and with red seal within image. Titled “Winter in Aizu” (4) and dated (1958) in pencil at bottom margin. Nicely framed in black wood frame with linen matting under glass. Not examined out of frame. Measures 30in x 24in framed with an image field of 21.5 in x 16.5in. Condition: The woodblock print is in good vintage condition: some very slight foxing at the bottom of the print (5 tiny spots – see pictures).
