UTAGAWA SADAFUSA FRAMED UKIYO-E JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT KABUKI ACTOR AS SAMURAI. Up for sale is a wonderful antique Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Sadafusa circa 1835. The original print is in it’s original frame from 1977 and has it’s original matting, glass, and bamboo style frame. Overall, it is 19 1/2″ long x 15 1/4″ long and the print is approximately 14″ x 10″. The print has muted colors and there are surface creasing and some spotting. Obviously, it has not been taken out of it’s original frame and I don’t know if the print is trimmed on the margins or if it’s glued to matte. As far as I can tell, the print is not dry mounted and probably only affixed on the edges of the print. The frame is in good condition but the matte does have foxing along it’s edge. As restrictions continue, I may only be able to drop packages off and not have them physically scanned into the postal system. My post office is understaffed and sometimes they fail to scan packages although they have them in their possession.
