JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT Hokusai Katsushika Fugaku Great Wave off Kanagawa Used

JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT Hokusai Katsushika Fugaku Great Wave off Kanagawa Used

Technique (classification): Woodcut Paper quality: Japanese paper Outside dimensions: 460 x 308 mm Seal size: 390 x 260 mm A global artist, Hokusai Katsushika. It is Kanagawa offshore in the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. I bought it from a print lab with a friendship with Ryudo. This work faithfully reproduces the natural beauty of Fuji drawn by Hokusai on a handrail woodcut. Forty-six photos of the “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji” have been used vertically and horizontally to reduce the natural scenery to geometric elements, centering on Mt. Fuji, which has been loved and loved by all Japanese since ancient times. This is a masterpiece that seeks out the fun of Kumi-e with fresh colors, and it can be said that the paintings of Hokusai fifty years were exactly condensed here. [Explanation of work] 3. View of waves off the coast of Kanagawa Not only is it one of the three major roles, but there is no masterpiece known so much to others. During the storm of the storm, how small and dead the boat the humans are on. Although the composition is full of thrills, Hokusai is trying to push the power of humans even against the reversing Onami. It seems that Fuji, a distant view, is watching over it quietly. That is the heart of Hokusai. The depiction of this wave is representative of Hokusai, a painter of waves and Fuji. Image 3 is the back side image. Make sure that the print dye is show-through and not a print. We are happy to combine different items and send worldwide. And holiday are excluded. I receive the question with pleasure. KUNIYOSHI UTAGAWA Original Japanese Woodblock Print Reprint Sashutsukaharaseccyu. Picture frame is not included. A brief sketch of Kuniyoshi UTAGAWA, the founder of the Utagawa school, in the life of SASHU TSUKAHARA, SECYU (provinces of Sashu). “A Brief Map of the Kozu Family” is a series of 10 prints depicting the biography of Nichiren Shonin. This work is believed to depict Nichiren Shonin who was exiled to Tsukahara in Sado. It is unusual for Kuniyoshi to have such a simple depiction that he does not show his eccentric ways, stoically depicting the turbulent life of a great man. Snow that falls and piles up as if it covers everything. The appearance of the lonely fishing village conveys the severity of winter in the Sea of Japan. 22.2 × 34.6 cm. Explanation in Japanese and English. Kuniyoshi Utagawa was an ukiyo-e artist who was active at the end of the Edo period. Because of his unique style, he is called “fantasy painter” and has recently been gaining popularity among a wide range of people. In the rankings of Ukiyoe artists at that time, Hiroshige, a Ukiyoe landscape painter, was named Kuniyoshi, a Mushae painter. His works full of rebellious and satirical spirit were overwhelmingly supported by people at that time, and many disciples gathered to form the largest faction of Ukiyoe artists. The genealogy includes Japanese painters in the Showa period. International Buyers – Please Note. RARE Kasamatsu Shiro Snow at Yomeimon Gate Nikko Japanese Woodblock Print c. 1952

A Japanese woodblock dated circa 1952 by the artist Kasamatsu Shiro titled Snow at Yomeimon Gate, Nikko. The woodblock print is in great condition with the artist’s marks in the lower right-hand corner. It is framed and matted under glass, overall dimensions approximately 20.3” x 15.3”. Dimensions visible inside the mat are approximately 9.1” x 13.9” Please review all images. Born in Tokyo, Shiro began studying art at a young age with the painter Kaburagi Kiyokata. He completed his first woodblock designs for Watanabe Shozaburo in 1919 after the publisher saw his paintings on exhibit. Shiro designed shin-hanga prints for Watanabe for many years, becoming well known for his romantic landscapes of famous landmarks and his scenes of traditional Japanese life. From 1952 to 1960, he created more than one hundred woodblock designs for the Kyoto publisher Unsodo. He also experimented with sosaku hanga or creative prints starting in the late 1950s, carving and printing his own designs. Shiro is regarded as one of the top shin-hanga woodblock print artists in Japan. Striking winter scene of the ornate Yomei Gate at Toshugo Shrine in Nikko, the final resting place of the Tokugawa shoguns. The elaborately carved structure is blanketed with snow as evening falls, the twilight creating shadows in soft blue gray. Beautifully detailed with a wonderful subdued color palette evoking a quiet winter night. A lovely shin hanga design which would make a lovely display. Shiro Kasamatsu (1898 – 1991). This is a guaranteed antique and original. (wood block print) by a late Edo c. 1845 era artist, Kunisada. Shunga (erotic prints) were outlawed to produce during the Edo era but were so poplular that all the leading artists created them. This print, unsigned, but attributed to the Edo era artist Kunisada of the Utagawa school, features an enthusiastic patron and geisha fulfilling the height of their passion. This print is two pages of a manga (book size) measuring 8″ x 6 1/4″ — (20 x 16 cm). It has been professionally matted on museum mat. The overall matsize is 12″ by 9″ (30 x 23 cm). The paper this print is made of took over 200 days to make. The paper is made of the inner bark of the gampi (mulberry) tree and made to last virtually indefinitely. Having been recently matted and framed, this print remains in very good condition , crisp with full. Some smudges around faces (see pictures 5 & 6). Pictures 7 & 8 show the full print out of mat from the back showing bleed through of the organic dyes.
