I BELIEVE TO BE JAPANESE BUT NOT SURE COULD BE CHINESE OR KOREAN NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE SIGNATURE. 22.75” X 17.75” (INCHES) WITH ITS WOODEN FRAME MATTED UNDER GLASS. THE IMAGE WITHIN THE MAT IS APP. 17.25” X 12” (INCHES). IT IS SIGNED WITH ORIENTAL CHARACTERS AND RED SEAL ON THE LOWER LEFT AREA, AND HAS AN ORIGINAL LABEL FROM THE PRESTIGIOUS BOSTON ART GALLERY HALEY & STEELE ON THE BACK SIDE. NOT SURE OF ITS AGE I BELIEVE TO BE FROM THE LATE 1800′S EARLY 1900′S. BEAUTIFUL IMPRESSION WITH STRONG COLORS IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. NOT EXAMINED OUT OF FRAME. Up for your consideration is this extremely rare nearly untouched condition of a 1928 Japanese woodblock by the famous Japanese artist Kawase Hasui. If you are a serious collector of this artists work, this is a must for your collection. Once again this woodblock was printed in 1928 and this same image(I don’t think this particular one) was featured at the 2009 expedition title Major Retco Spective of Prints of Hasui from the Robert Nuller collection. Which now resides at the Smithsonian institution. I have owned this woodblock print for many years. The size of this woodblock is approximately 10 1/4′s inches by 15 1/4 inches. The colors are superb condition is superb. It is signed along the margin also has his seal. On the back in pencil is written 1578 P 1289 after the rain at Akashi Town # 1608 it is also has a stamp that says made in Japan this was for export reasons. With the year of 1928.
