Antique Japanese Taisho c1926 Woodblock Print Koson Ohara Snipe Reeds Stream. Daikokuten, from the series The Seven Lucky Gods Along the Sumida River. The paper has discolouration, slight creasing, small splits along the sides and general minor age related wear. It has been glued to a backing paper at two pints at the top, and in the past at two points to the base. Overall it is in Good Vintage Condition. (Please view the pics carefully). Lovely Meiji Era Beauty Triptych. This striking bijin-ga or beauty triptych is, of course, a Kitagawa Utamaro masterwork. Without a doubt, Utamaro Japanese, c. His classic portraits of courtesans, geishas and teahouse waitresses are among the most sought after of all prints. In fact, many serious collectors consider Utamaros beauties to be the very soul of ukiyo , the art of the Floating World. The title of this marvelous triptych is Picnic by a Stream. A bevy of young women prepare to have a picnic beside a small stream. A lovely, softly colored scene with delicate embossing in the water. This reprint of one of Utamaros most famous works is one you will be proud to display in your home or office and is bound to become a cherished family heirloom.
