Japanese Printmaker Kono Bairei, Bird & Flower Scene, ca 1875, woodcut in color on laid paper, measuring 26″L and 21″H (site: 4 1/8L and 9H). Kono Bairei was a Japanese painter, book illustrator, and art teacher. He was born and lived in Kyoto. He was a member of the broad Maruyama-Shijo school and was a master of kacho-e painting in the Meiji period of Japan. Good condition, as shown in photos.
