Old Japanese Tsukioka Kogyo Woodblock Print “Quail & Silver Full Moon” with Publisher Seal. The overall measurement is 18.1 inches (46 cm) long by 17.1 inches (43.5 cm) wide. The print is 10.75 inches (27.5 cm) long by 11.3 inches (29 cm) wide. It is 0.7 Lb. The print has been trimmed and has foxing at the edge, stains, toning, fading, and browning, glued to the board, and surface wears (as seen in the photos). How we pack your item is at our discretion. He was a student and adopted son of Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, and also studied withOgata Gekk? . Gyo sometimes painted other subjects, for most of his career he made pictures of Japanesenoh theatre, either as large-scale paintings or colored woodblock prints. Some sets, such as N? A lovely Rare Original Japanese Tsukioka Kogyo Woodblock Print Plum Blossom & Moon. Published by Matsuki Heikichi (Daikokuya) this Woodblock is beautifully delicate and a very rare piece. Many of these squarish shikishiban prints are thought to have been issued by the Daikokiya, who continually explored new avenues for print subjects and types primarily destined for the export market in the late 19th and early 20th century. The Woodblock is in excellent condition. The colours as they should be. It is in its original frame and mount. The mount is discoloured with age and the frame a little battered. It measures approximately 37cm x 37cm inclusive of the frame. Image size measures approximately 23cm x 23cm. Please view the photos carefully as they are a vital part of the description.
