Katsukawa Shunsen (Shunko II) (1762- 1830) Courtesan Ukiyo-e Woodblock. Print Frame measures 75 cm x 25cm – Wrinkles, stains, creases, chips to the lacquered frame. Sale includes the frame pictured. Due to the age and visible fragility of the ukiyo-e, frame has not been opened and the print has not been removed from the frame. Front “glass” appears to be an archival quality acrylic type plastic. Print shows stains, wrinkles, creases and possible joining or repair done along the mid section. Tanning and toning visible. Item has been stored away from direct light. Measurements are for the overall size of the piece – frame included. 29.5 inches tall (75 cm). 10 inches wide (25.4 cm). Frame is lacquered wood. Frame has several chips, nicks and scratches. There is a sizable chip (large size chip) to the frame on the upper right hand corner – showing the wood beneath the lacquer. Paper covering on the back of the frame shows punctures and rips. Frame is still sturdy and can be used as is. Vintage, Used or Antique items will show wear and imperfections. All images provided are of the item for sale.
