Yoshimoto Gesso Japanese Woodblock Print Tanzaku Stone Pagoda Under Moon Light

This piece was from my mother-in-laws husband’s mother’s collection- who lived in Japan with her husband in the 1950s. In good condition but it does have some wear from not ever being framed over the years. It is taped lightly with one piece of tape to a thin posterboard type material. The piece is about 13.5″ tall by 3″ wide — not including the white posterboard material it is taped to. Please see photos for details.

Toshi Yoshida Woodblock Pagoda in Kyoto
Author: adminDec 15
This design was originally published in 1942 by the Yoshida Hanga Studio. We are offering a posthumously printed image, made from the original blocks, and acquired directly from the Yoshida family. While it is signed in the block, it still looks like it is pencil signed to an untrained eye. To avoid any misunderstanding, the Yoshida Hanga Studio also included the seal of the printer on the reverse. The image measures 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches, plus full margins. The condition is excellent. Up until his father passed away in 1950, Toshi Yoshida primarily produced works that were reminiscent of his father’s landscape prints. His later works include a wide assortment of subjects, styles and techniques. Don’t settle for a giclee or other mechanical reproduction. These woodblock prints are made using the same printing process as the original pencil signed run, under the supervision of the artist’s family and meeting their exacting standards. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. The seller is “floatingworldgallery” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.

Junichiro Sekino Japanese Woodblock Print Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto Pagoda Snow
Author: adminSep 25
This listing is for the original Japanese woodblock print that you see in the photos. One source of information tells me that the title is “Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto” from the Tokaido Road series that is also known as: “Pagoda in Snow, ” or Snowy Forest. It is signed in pencil. The frame measures close to 26 ¾ by 21 ½ inches. The area of the print paper exposed by the frame measures close to 19 ¼ by 13 ¾ inches. The area of the image measures close to 12 5/8 by 17 7/8 inches. The framed print weighs close to 6 pounds 2 ounces. The print is behind glass so you might see some reflections. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. As far as I can see, the print is in excellent condition with no damage. There are some rolling distortions of the paper across the top of the paper exposed by the mat. I have provided a photo of them where they are maximally apparent because I have them angled to a light. Otherwise, they are not particularly noticeable. There is a minor scrape on the frame that I have provided a close-up of. The paper backing on the frame is damaged some. Otherwise, print and frame are fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. I guarantee this print to be as described and represented by the 11 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes. 11 photos should load with this listing. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”.
