Up for sale is this beautiful woodblock print, “Oiwake in Asama” by the difficult-to-find print artist, Mori Masamoto b. Masamoto designed several landscape prints for Adachi Publishing in the 1950s. He was known for wonderful attention to detail and a subdued palette of colors. Woodblock prints by Masamoto are quite rare and hardly ever seen on the market. This print, “Oiwake in Asama” depicts Mt. I really like the spidery black tree in the foreground shaping the view of the mountain. This print dates to 1950. It is nicely framed in a simple natural wood frame under glass. Have not examined outside the frame. Print is in very good condition, from what I can see. There does appear to be a minor amount of waviness under the glass, but no other issues noticed. Frame has a number of small dings and scuffs. Measurements: Print measures approximately 17.125 inches wide x 13.125 inches high 16.5 inches wide x 12 inches high (sight). The frame measures 21.5 inches wide x 17.5 inches high. If the item is not paid for within this time frame, an unpaid item case will be opened. More pictures available on request.
