Masaji Yoshida , Japanese Woodblock print, 1968 , signed & numbered. A member of the sosaku hanga print movement, Yoshida studied at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts with Unichi Hiratsuka and later with Koshiro Onchi. After serving in WWII (he was a POW), Yoshida exhibited in the International print biennales of Lugano, Zürich, Krakow, Sao Paulo and Toyko. His prints, typically non-objective, are classic examples of modern Japanese printmaking. It measures 12″ x 12″ (image size). It is signed lower right; and numbered 40/50, entitled “Modern Ballet, ” and dated 1968 lower left. It is in good condition with some mat burn and areas of minor yellowing (near some of the images in the center).
