Artist: Hajime Namiki b. Mountain Cherry Blossom at Kougenji Temple. Although better known for his woodblock prints, Hajime Namiki first began as a sculptor having studied under Shigeru Ogura and carved bird figures from wood. In the late 1970′s he began carving his own woodblocks and producing his prints using traditional Japanese methods.
