He was a renowned artist known for his landscapes and night scenes, and his prints are often called “light ray pictures” due to his expert use of light. This particular print is a post-war lifetime edition (circa 1947) based on the 6mm circular Watanabe seal in the lower left corner. It was printed on handmade paper using subtle shades of green, blue, and gray. Koitsu woodblocks made before he died are highly sought after and difficult to find. The print measures approximately 10.5 x 15.25 inches and is in excellent condition with no tears or stains.
