His Kabuki woodblocks are more rare than his more numerous female featured prints. This piece is entitled Kagamijishi (Lion Dance). Print measurments are 10 1/2 inches by 16 1/2 inches, comes with original paper mat. Please see the other woodblock prints by Hasegawa that I have listed they would make a wonderful set. The original description paper that comes with the prints reads as follows (there is also a photo of the description). One of the Shin-Kabuki’s repertorie comprising 18 classical pieces. It is Kabuki Dance by Nagauta music which is arranged a gallantry of Lion. The actor patterns upon Noh-play the first half this dance and the last half, plays a madness of Lion. The excellent contrast between such as elegance and gallantry is the leading attraction in this dance. About the artist: Born in the family of Ukiyo-e that has continued 100 years since Yedo Period, and succeeded Sadanobu Third. First Class artist in Puppet Show, Kabuki and Genre Paintings.
