By Japanese artist Nakayama Sugakudo, active in the late 1800′s. Vintage wood frame, painted with gilt is 13 1/2 x 18 1/2, more recent than print. Print is 9 x 13, matted and under glass. Print has some fading but very nice, frame is in very good condition. Recently acquired in Northern Virginia. Sugakudo was a Jap. Ctive between 1850 through early 1860s. Little is know about Sugakudo, even the dates of his birth and death are unknown, though it is widely reported that he was a student of Hiroshige. He is best known for his bird and flower prints or.
