This Japanese woodblock print by Yoshu Chikanobu depicts a peony in full bloom during the month of April- Meiji period 1897. From the series : Juni Hitoe. From what I can tell it’s from Uzuki no Fukamigusa- The Twelve Layered Paintings. The print measures 13.25″ x 8.25″ and was folded down the center and has a fold/wrinkle on the right side but otherwise great condition for the age and the colors are vibrant. It comes matted with conservation blue matting that measures 14″x 9.25″. No rips or tears and was preserved nicely.
