Fantastic original large woodblock print by Paul Jacoulet, c. It is framed in a very classic black wood frame and textured/organic look tan matting. The mat and frame definitely compliment the look and feel of this elegant yet organic art work. The glass cast reflection, but the print has no damage, no wrinkles, no light spots, etc. This is a great opportunity to own a full size original block print for less than the price of the greeting card size prints. The sight of the print is about 15.5″ by 11.5″. With frame about 22″ by 26.5″. Jacoulet’s signature and stamp are easily visible in the bottom right hand corner. CONDITION: overall on par with other prints available. PLEASE read below for specifics. I have not opened the back of this print, but I DID open the back of our other Jacoulet print as it was dropped and the frame needed repairing. The OTHER print had very old tape from its original framing (pre-1985), very minor edge loss here and there and minor fading evident around the original mats perimeter. NOTABLY, the title of the print (and the red print number on verso), had been carefully cut out with a mat-cutting knife. I suspectf it was used in a separate window cut in the mat and centered below the print to show it’s title during it’s 1940-era framing. I surmise this because I have a 19th century lobster print that this was also done to. I took several photos of the other print when it was out that I’d be happy to send.
