Kosanji Temple, depicted in this work, is an ancient Shingon Buddhist temple located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto, and is registered as a World Heritage site. Known as the birthplace of “Sado(Japanese Tea Ceremony)”, it is famous for having the oldest tea garden in Japan. It is also said to be a treasure house of cultural assets, including caricatures of birds, animals, and people, and a statue of Shonin Myoe. In this work, Masao depicts such a Kosanji temple in a cut-out style. His characteristic green color, also known as “Ido green, ” is well-known and can be seen in part of this work. Wonderful print -VERY GOOD Condition – includes original portfolio – see images. Inoue was a student of Kiyochika Kobayashi. Unfortunately he passed at a very young age.
