Description – Woodblock print titled “Birds and Fish”. Shiro Kasamatsu was a Japanese engraver and print maker trained in the Shin-Hanga and Sosaku-Hanga styles of woodblock printing. Kasamatsu was born in Tokyo in 1898 and apprenticed at the age of 13 to Kaburagi Kiyokata, a tradiional master of Bijin-ga or female portraiture. January 11, 1898, Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. Dimensions – 14 1/4″ x 21 1/4″ framed. Color – Blues, Black, and White. Materials – Framing, white. Condition – Good condition, shows little wear. Professionally framed and matted.
