Vintage KAORU KAWANO Girl Candle Light. Modern Japanese Woodblock Original Frame

The title of the piece is “Candle Light”. The printed paper is encased in the original Japanese wood frame, with velvet mat. The image depicts a girl with eyes closed holding a lit candle with circular halo. On the back of the frame is written in pencil: No90-2xx (last two characters illegiblemay be Japanese). Which may have been written by the artist’s hand. I’m not sure. The artist’s stamp is on the lower left corner of the image. Approximate size of the frame is: 10″ tall, and 7 5/8″ wide. The paper size is 6 1/2″ x 4 1/4″. This is a finely rendered modern illustration by a true master artist. That is in good vintage condition overall. The item “Vintage KAORU KAWANO Girl Candle Light. SHOTEI’S STAMP IS ON THE LEFT MIDDLE BUT DUE TO THE CREPE PROCESS AND THE DARK COLORING IT DID NOT SCAN WELL. THIS IS ONE OF SHOTEI’S MOST PRIZED IMAGES. IMPRESSION AND COLOR ARE VERY FINE. CORNERS ARE FRAYED AND THERE IS A PINHOLE IN LOWER LEFT CORNER. Print measures: 12.2 x 5.6 inches.
