I’m offering this very charming original Japanese woodblock print by Yoshitoshi commonly known as “Looking Tiresome” from his series Thirty-Two Aspects of Women. The image depicts a wealthy young woman leaning over and affectionately teasing her white cat, which has intricately embossed fur (the “gauffrage” technique). The print was published in 1888 by Kobayashi. The print size is oban tate-e (10″ x 14.5″) and it is in a black metal frame that measures 20-3/4″ x 17″.
