15 -1/2″ x 12 -1/4″ (Frame); 10 x 7 (Creped Paper). A beautiful and uncommon Shotei design. The wood frame was crafted by a descendant of Robert O. Muller and used exclusively for chuban size works. UV-Glass and custom acid-free matte. Chirimen-gami-e (“crepe paper”) or sometimes referred to as’crepon’. Ukiyo-e crepe prints were produced at least as early as 1800 in Edo, and throughout the nineteenth century they were used on occasion for alternate states of some ukiyo-e designs. The compression technique resulted in a highly textured surface and slightly smaller paper size. Please view our other listings of Japanese Woodblock Prints!
