From 1925 to 1932, Hasui worked with several different publishers for reasons that were primarily economic. The sixteen prints that he designed for Kawaguchi and Sakai are considered among his finest work, especially the lavishly printed snow scenes. First edition K&S prints are quite rare and are highly sought after by collectors. Hasui’s designs were reprinted by Kawaguchi during the 1930′s and by the publisher Shobisha in the 1950′s.
