This piece was from my mother-in-laws husband’s mother’s collection- who lived in Japan with her husband in the 1950s. In good condition but it does have some wear from not ever being framed over the years. It is taped lightly with one piece of tape to a thin posterboard type material. The piece is about 13.5″ tall by 3″ wide — not including the white posterboard material it is taped to. Please see photos for details.

Toshi Yoshida Woodblock Pagoda in Kyoto
Author: adminDec 15
This design was originally published in 1942 by the Yoshida Hanga Studio. We are offering a posthumously printed image, made from the original blocks, and acquired directly from the Yoshida family. While it is signed in the block, it still looks like it is pencil signed to an untrained eye. To avoid any misunderstanding, the Yoshida Hanga Studio also included the seal of the printer on the reverse. The image measures 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches, plus full margins. The condition is excellent. Up until his father passed away in 1950, Toshi Yoshida primarily produced works that were reminiscent of his father’s landscape prints. His later works include a wide assortment of subjects, styles and techniques. Don’t settle for a giclee or other mechanical reproduction. These woodblock prints are made using the same printing process as the original pencil signed run, under the supervision of the artist’s family and meeting their exacting standards. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. The seller is “floatingworldgallery” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped to United States.

Junichiro Sekino Japanese Woodblock Print Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto Pagoda Snow
Author: adminSep 25
This listing is for the original Japanese woodblock print that you see in the photos. One source of information tells me that the title is “Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto” from the Tokaido Road series that is also known as: “Pagoda in Snow, ” or Snowy Forest. It is signed in pencil. The frame measures close to 26 ¾ by 21 ½ inches. The area of the print paper exposed by the frame measures close to 19 ¼ by 13 ¾ inches. The area of the image measures close to 12 5/8 by 17 7/8 inches. The framed print weighs close to 6 pounds 2 ounces. The print is behind glass so you might see some reflections. The condition is much like you see it in the photos. As far as I can see, the print is in excellent condition with no damage. There are some rolling distortions of the paper across the top of the paper exposed by the mat. I have provided a photo of them where they are maximally apparent because I have them angled to a light. Otherwise, they are not particularly noticeable. There is a minor scrape on the frame that I have provided a close-up of. The paper backing on the frame is damaged some. Otherwise, print and frame are fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. I guarantee this print to be as described and represented by the 11 photos after the general description. The photos are part of the description. Please look at all of them. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes. 11 photos should load with this listing. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. Vintage Signed Toshi Yoshida Japanese Woodblock Print PAGODA IN KYOTO Framed
Author: adminDec 2
Toshi Yoshida Japanese Woodblock Print Framed! Titled: Pagoda in Kyoto. Signed: Toshi Yoshida pencil-signed? A vintage Toshi Yoshida Japanese woodblock print. A warm sunset scene with cool colors featuring a traditional pagoda with an ancient willow tree beautifully reflected in the pond in the foreground. Gathered from the internet. T oshi Yoshida was born in Tokyo in 1911 and lived until 1995. Was a Japanese printmaking. Artist associated with the sosaku-hanga. Movement, and the son of renowned shin-hanga. Toshi Yoshida prints are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Art Institute of Chicago, the British Museum in London and other international museum collections. I believe this to be a “lifetime edition print” with an original pencil-signed signature. This is based on the lack of a visible imprint. When viewed on an angle in the light. From that you would see from a blocked-signed signature post-death, and the shiny look of the graphite pencil lead from the signature when viewed in the same way. However, note that I have no deep knowledge of Japanese woodblock print age and signature verification and do not claim to be an expert in this area. The print was professionally framed. Kabutoya Galleries label with artist, title and medium listed on back (see photos). Vintage framing shop label on back (see photos). Double matting, with outer matte lavender in color and inner black border. Silver frame with a brushed effect on the sides (frame is easily removable, see photos). Woodblock print has good colors, and clear artist marks, title and signature. Note the print itself is fixed (glued) to the matte backing and front, and is therefore sandwiched between the matte front and back. On very close inspection, there are visible bubbled areas on some of the edges where the print is raised from this process (see the last few close-up photos). Frame is in very good condition, however there is a crack to the glass (reflective glass) in the right, bottom corner, which should be replaced. (Please read the condition description carefully and enlarge and view photos as part of the condition description, since the print is not returnable). Framed this measures 13 inches x 16 inches. Full print itself measures 8 inches x 10-1/2 inches. Matting border measure 1-3/4 inches. Please note, I have no deep knowledge of Japanese woodblock prints, and the information I’ve provided above comes from internet research and the labels on the back of the framed print. From a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please ask any questions. The item “Vintage Signed Toshi Yoshida Japanese Woodblock Print PAGODA IN KYOTO Framed” is in sale since Tuesday, November 30, 2021. This item is in the category “Antiques\Asian Antiques\Japan\Prints”. The seller is “phylsister” and is located in Wakefield, Rhode Island. This item can be shipped to United States.
