Produced by the Oedo Woodblock Printing Company, carved by Endo, and printed by Itakura. A classic ukiyo-e nishiki-e surimono. 27cm (L) x 41cm (W). Born in 1797 and passed away in 1858, was a prominent Japanese ukiyo-e artist. Hailing from a family of Edo firefighters, Hiroshige inherited the family business before dedicating himself to the art of woodblock printing. His landscape prints, renowned for their delicate beauty and atmospheric perspective, have had a profound impact on Western artists including Van Gogh and Monet. The names are written in the Japanese order, with the family name first. These charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
