Vintage Masao Ido Woodblock Print Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage woodblock print by Masao Ido. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This print depicts a view of an exterior garden from an interior space. The artwork is nicely matted and framed under glass with a double mat and a black metal frame. This woodblock would be a fine addition to a collection of Asian art. The print is dated “’82″ (1982) and numbered 144/150. The title of the print is not known. The artist was born in Iwate, Japan, and he moved to Kyoto in 1960, where he became the private pupil of Koho Yoshida. He also studied under Shigechika Ohtsubo. In 1983, he and two other artists exhibited in the Kyoto 100 Landscapes. In 1990, he exhibited in Chicago by special invitation. Masao Ido designed stamps and an official city poster in Japan. His works are present in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and in the Library of Congress. Condition The print looks wonderful, with no damage noted. I have not examined it outside of the frame, as it was already nicely framed when I acquired it. The mat and frame look very good also. The frame has very light wear. Terms of Sale 1.
