One of the most famous of all Ukiyo-e images! The subjects of Hiroshiges work were atypical of the ukiyo-e genre. However, Hiroshige is best known for his landscapes and images of birds and flowers. In fact Hiroshiges genius for landscape composition was even recognized, and sometimes copied, by the great European Impressionist painters such as Vincent Van Gogh. From the 1896 edition of Hiroshiges famous series the 53 Stations of the Tkaid. Travelers struggle against the force of a driving rainstorm. This is one of the most famous of all Japanese woodblock prints and is a Hiroshige masterwork. Would be absolutely spectacular displayed in your home or office.
