Tamiya Bocharo, swore to avenge the death of his father Tamiya Genpachiro, who was killed by a jealous fencing instructor in 1624. Botaro trained himself and at the age of 17 attained his revenge. In this woodblock print we see Botaro watching his nurse Otsuji fetch a bucket of water. Condition: This print has been framed to protect it from the elements; the margins can still be seen. This print has fine impression and colour. There is mild soiling and a torn off area of the lower right margin; does not affect the beauty of the print.
