Condition: Some age toning, especially near borders. Two tape repairs to verso by a previous owner. Some edge tears, mainly in blank margins. Impression: Good bleed to verso. Japanese Layered Block Print Signed. Info on this print can be found at this link. Print is 15.5 x 7.25. Frame is 20.5 x 12. Matte is 2 all around. This has been professionally framed. There is a small spot of damage in the lower left corner. I took a close up. I had a hard time getting a good photograph without some sort of glare. It looks like theres a spot of dust in the lower right corner where the print meets the matte. This listing is for a vintage signed Tamami Shima woodblock print. It is signed in pencil to the lower edge. It is # 68 of an edition of 100. The paper measures 22 3/4 inches X 16 inches. This print was framed with matte glass, so the colors and contrast are vibrant and strong. There is light yellowing at the edges where the paper was under cardboard, visible in the photos. Vintage Tsuchiya Koitsu Japanese Woodblock Print Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage woodblock print on paper by the well-known Japanese artist, Tsuchiya Koitsu. Please excuse any glare in the photos. Depicted in this nocturnal scene is a calm, rainy evening in the city. The print is not matted or framed. The image area measures approximately 15 3/8 inches by 10 1/8 inches. The paper measures approximately 16 5/8 inches by 11 1/4 inches. This would be a beautiful addition to a collection of Japanese works of art on paper. It is called, Evening at Ushigome. The artist was known for his works in the shin-hanga style. The exact age of this vintage print is not known. The markings to the margins and to the lower right of the image area are as shown. Verso, there is a label affixed from Ace Art Shop in Tokyo (see Photo 9). Condition This unframed print looks good overall, as shown. There is minor rippling or slight creasing to the paper. There is slightly sticky tape residue to the right and left margins in several areas (see examples in photos). The top edge has a crease along it, about 1/8 inch from the paper’s rag edge (see Photo 9). Terms of Sale 1.
