Pair of beautiful Japanese woodblock prints for your home or office. And printing from all around the world. His style is very Westernized, and his attention to detail is exceptional. These two prints, are part of a trio called the The Friendly Garden which highlights the beautiful tree’s commonly found in Japanese landscapes, and in these prints we have the Pine Tree, and the Bamboo (the 3rd print, The Plum Tree is missing and not included). These are in excellent condition and had been re-framed and matted at some point in the past, placing them in gold metallic frames with plexiglass and blue-gray mats. It is not known if the plexiglass has UV protection or not, but the prints seem to have retained most of their original colors. No damage to the prints, or mats or frames (other than minor wear and tear which is otherwise not noteworthy) and measure aprox. 25.5″ tall and 15″ wide (framed). Thank you for your interest! Fabulous Kaoru Kawano Japanese woodblock print – believe this one is called “Two Birds” and features a girl with arms outstretched and two birds sitting on her head. Colors are beige/yellow, gray and black. Quirky and cute woodblock. Marked with red color chop on front, and very faint pencil signature. In good vintage condition, with no frame or mat. PLEASE NOTE: print appears to be in good shape, but it has likely been trimmed slightly on the left and right sides – first letter of sig is partially missing, see photo. You will need to keep this in mind for framing or matting. Some light dust and or debris. Paper is a bit yellow with age, a bit wavy. Print measures about 10″ by 8″. Unless specifically stated above. Fuji from Ohito in Autmun. Authentic hand printed Japanese woodblock print. All of our pictures were taken by scanner from our woodblock prints. Sometime during scanning process, the image get diffuse reflection from scanner. That makes yellow shadow on our picture. However all of our prints are perfect condition and not such yellow part on our print. Approx Washi paper Size Height 20.00 cm x Width 31.00 cm (H 7.873 ” x W 12.20 “). Originally published in 1983 by Yoshida studio. This is the later edition from original woodblocks. But very old print in New condition. Printed in Tokyo Japan. Only perfect condition sheet. Kept in very professional codition. The color of the actual woodblock print may be slightly differebt from the image on our pictures. The actual sheet is much better than our picture at all. Generally good condition with very minor surface e. See photo #3 and edge wear–appears to have been stored flat and in the dark long term. The surface wear does not reflect lose of color or scratches to color but rather is a slightly impressed area that reflects light differently. Thank you for evaluating this listing. Joichi Hoshi Great Tree 1975 Woodblock Print

A beautiful Joichi Hoshi “Great Tree” woodblock print. Hoshi (1913 – 1979) was a Japenese printmaker best known for his depictions of trees. This print is in excellent condition as you can see in the pictures. The frame is in very good condition with some minor loss of the gold shown in last picture. This is really all the imperfections I can find. The print is signed lower right hand corner. The print itself is 7-3/4″ x 5-3/8″, the mat is 10-1/8″ x 7-1/2″ and outside of frame is 11″ x 8-1/2″.
