Both greeting card size prints have been stored flat inside original envelopes since first being acquired in Karuizawa, Japan circa 1957. These were acquired at the Jacoulet studio and passed down within a single family. There was also a green colored pamphlet (Artist Bio) and additional catalog by Florence Wells. I only have these pieces left in the collection. Provenance: I acquired a large group of Jacoulet items that have been dispersed over the years. The entire group was from Jacoulet’s working studio. This color copy of the “Mysterious Pacific” – Mermaid print (7 -1/2 x 5 -1/8) came with this material. It looks to be from around the same period as all the other material; circa 1957. It has faint signs of toning in the margins of the paper, but the image is fresh and bright. Again, it’s not a print but a color copy that may have been used at the print studio… Maybe to assist in the printing process of creating the greeting card size version of, “Mysterious Pacific” – Mermaid. Not sure if it has value, but it’ll be included with the two greeting card prints so the three items stay together.
