Vintage Prints Woodblock Ukiyoes Book Japanese Chikanobu Print Art (Q327). PLEASE-ANY INFORMATION ANYONE COULD GIVE OR PROVIDE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. This is a neat collection of items from a local estate. I do not know anything about Japanese art. I believe the book to be a Collection of Prints of Great Ukiyoe. The previous owner has some notes on a separate paper which I believe might relate to the item itself. The book has an outer cover that shows wear and age, the inner cover does have some wear, the interior pages and are in very good condition. From what I can read this is some of the information that someone penned on separate paper relating to the images. They start by stating… (Some of what I type may be grammatically or spelled incorrectly as I try and decipher what someone penned). I believe someone researched the images and put together some information in English. 13 TOTAL PIECES IN THE BOOK PLUS TWO ADDITIONAL ITEMS INCLUDED IN THIS LOT. A collection of Prints of Great Ukiyoe. Grasses and Flowers in Fall by Hoshin Ishigaki. Below is the information of Hoshin Ishigaki. Dancing on the day of Obon, a memorial day in Buddhism by Iccho Hanabusa. Below is information about Iccho Hanabusa. Otozure- A letter by Utamaro Kitagawa. Again more information about Utamaro. Hyogazu- Girls evaluating a drawing by Seishun Kondo. Again more information about Seishun. Ai ai gasa- A Couple sharing an umbrella by Harunobu Suzuki. Oibane- Girls playing shuttlecock by Tsunemasa Kawamata. Secchu Bijin- A Beauty in the Snow by an unidentified painter. Tanuki- A Badger by Hokusai Katsushika. With information about Hokusai. Shokaku Mersho; Shimanokuni Hiyorimiyama Scenic Spots Mt Hiyorimi by Hiroshige Ando. Yumi-shi An Arch craftsman by Mitsuoki Tosa. Tobijin A Chinese Beauty by Settei Tsukioka. Harkomano Mai Dancing of A Horse in Spring by an unidentified painter. Koshi Insho A high official lives in retirement by Tsung Ma Yuan. This information appears to tell about the art within the book. The artwork lifts from the page and is simply attached to the page with just a small amount of something. Also included is two pieces of art which I believe might be Chikanobu pieces. They measure approximately 14 3/8″ by 9 1/2″. They have some damage around the edges as pictured and small pinhole in corners possible from being displayed. They are super neat as pictured, such a rare estate find. I do not know anything about this type of art and simply have provided much of what I could from researching the art along with the paperwork that someone included on notebook paper with additional details. The book itself appears to have a silk threaded cover, the book measures 10 1/2″ by 14 1/2″. Please ask questions, I have no problem adding or sending more photos and providing as much detail as possible.
