Framed Mid Century Tomoo Inagaki Japanese Woodblock Prints 2 Cats Uma Horse Boy
Author: adminNov 14
3 Mid-Century Japanese wood block prints. The bottom print is Two Cats by Tomoo Inagaki. These are not photocopies. Each of these is approximately 6 1/2 tall. The set has been professionally framed behind glass and has been double matted. Each print is still on its original backing paper which is attached to that paper at the top edge. I do not see any pencil signatures or writing. There are artist marks on the prints: to the left bottom on the Uma Horse and Two Cats; to the right bottom by the little boy’s foot. We have many more photos of these woodblock prints but can only list 12 with the listing. These are really an astonishingly nice set. In researching these pieces, we found that Yoseida Gallery in Tokyo commissioned small woodblock prints from artists as an attachment to Christmas cards that they would send to their clients. Presumably, the prints were created by the artists in the 1960s/70s. I will enclose the information that I have found about this with the artwork. If you have any additional information, it would be greatly appreciated. This is really a great set for your collection. International Buyers Please Note. These charges are the buyers responsibility.
