As you can see from the photos when it was removed from the frame the dreadful matting job was revealed. There was red tape around the print and it is firmly attached to the backboard. Artist’s shinsei (red seal), Hamamatsu-Do (Doi Hangaten), pulled from original blocks. Image size 14¼ x 9-3/8 inches, with margins approx 11 x 15 inches. Beautiful, large format triptych depicting a garden with the Three Friends of Winter, pine, bamboo and plum. A lovely design, commissioned by the Franklin Mint in 1980 and printed in Toshi Yoshidas studio in Japan. The only triptych ever created by Toshi Yoshida, this beautiful image is rarely seen on the market. Very good condition overall- Excellent color and detail, paper remnants on reverse at edges from original mounting , slight toning. Image 17.5W x 14.0H. Artelino Bio: Inagaki was born in Tokyo in 1933. Her teacher was Hiroyuki Tajima. The preferred technique of Akemi Inagaki is woodblock prints. Her art works are characterized by a tranquil elegance and by a restriction to very few colors which are however displayed in many shades.
