This is a original Japanese Woodblock print by one of the leaders of Early Japanese Prints makers, Suzuki Harunobu. Its of the period and extremely rare. Areas in photos that look dark are from a shadow from lighting. I found one example of this print from a Christies 2000 print sale, better colors but image was trimmed thinner by 1/4. Its a great pillar print depicting a pair of scholars spying on a beauty near a river bank. Of course with age conditions issues are present. Some small thins and worm hole repairs , print has a center fold line. Its been backed onto larger piece of rice paper. Print Size 26.5″ x 4 3/4″. Please look at photos for grading and condition.
