Japanese artist Tamami Shima woodblock print Fish and Lemons 1965 signed/framed

This Japanese art piece features three slender bluish-black fish with two scratchy yellow lemons over an offset background of greyish beige speckled colors. The title is hand-written in Japanese in the lower left with the date 1965. The work is signed in the lower right by the artist Tamami Shima. I have not determined the total number printed. The image measures approximately 10″ x 15″ wide and was professionally framed and matted. The black matting actually covers the signature for the finished work. The wooden frame is 3/4 wide with outside dimensions of 15-1/2″ x 20″. The glass cover is probably non-glare acrylic and has protected it well. The entire piece is in overall excellent condition for being over 55 years old. Except for minor marks on the frame. Note I did remove the print from the frame to affirm it was signed and an original, and then I put it back together untaped and unsealed. Please review the photographs carefully before purchasing. Note colors vary because the darker, brownish photos were taken in low lighting without a flash. If you are uncertain about any information Ive presented or described, please ask prior to purchasing. Mailing address only and will be insured. I hope you will be excited to add this Tamami Shima woodblock print to your collection and that you will be happy with this fine artwork for many years. May 5 is Children’s Day, when families celebrate the healthy growth and happiness of children. It became a national holiday in 1948, but it has been a day of celebration in Japan since ancient times. The fifth day of the fifth month was traditionally called Tango no Sekku and was a festival for boys. Girls have their own festival, called Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival), held on the third day of the third month. On Children’s Day, families with boys fly huge carp-shaped streamers. Outside the house and display dolls of famous warriors and other heroes inside.
