Antique Japanese Woodblock Ukiyoe Art by Utagawa Kunisada / Toyokuni Framed

This is an Antique Utagawa Kunisada Japanese woodblock print that was created around 1850. This Woodblock is in Very Good condition. NOTE There is a small hole on the right side. It appears that when it was framed, they put blue paper under the holes to make them less apparent, which worked because I did not notice the holes until I was cropping the photos. This is shown in close up in the last picture. Someone wrote, Toyokuni c. 1850 on the back. Utagawa Kunisada was also known as Toyokuni. I confirmed that this is a Utagawa Kunisada piece by ukiyo-e dot org website, and Waseda University Theatre Museum which has one of these on display. The Print measures about 14″ tall by 10″ wide. The frame measures 22″ tall by 17″ wide. The Print is framed in a simple oak frame with protective glass cover. Also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III?????? ; 1786 – 12 January 1865 was the most popular, prolific and commercially successful designer of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. In his own time, his reputation far exceeded that of his contemporaries. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge. Some wear is to be expected, unless described as flawless or mint. I can’t know everything about every item I offer, I do inspect each item and list all known flaws or damage. So please take a good look at the photos and ask questions if need be.
