Outstanding & original Japanese woodblock print book, Flowers of Japan, vol. Volume measures 7 1/2 X 11 inches (closed) and has 48 pages, 46 of which have fine full color Japanese woodblock prints. Original covers & title slip, contents complete, fine colors & impressions, generally good shape for the age, a rare first edition & GU. NOTE: This volume was too large for my scanner. It contains 20 full-color woodblock printed Furisode kimono designs. Published by Yamada Unsodo in Meiji 34 (1901). NOTE Japan Post has been modify EMS rates since June, 2016. Most importantly, the minimum amount changes while EMS rates started from 300g previously, the new rate starts from 500g. Up for your consideration is a rare Japanese Wood Block Print, ” Late Autumn at Ichikawa”, by Kawase Hasui. I inherited an Antique Store a number of years ago and this piece along with several other very nice Wood Block Originals were in the back of the store. I did a lot of research and found that this was made in the 1930′s. Kawase Hasui was a master at wood blocks. I could not find this particular Wood Block for sale on any site. It was in museums and personal collections. This Print is an original it bears all the correct signatures and seals. It measures 15 1/4″ in length and is 10 1/2″ wide. It is in good condition with no rips or tears. But I believe it is faded. I have taken time to do good pictures, please take time to look at them for any unlisted damage. They are part of the description. This is a wonderful Wood Block by a Master Artist. It would be great in any collection.
