This is a real woodblock print, and please note that this is NOT a giclee or lithograph or some sort. 6 1/2″ x 14 3/4″. Date of this edition. Some rubbing by the upper left corner, else very fine. Rare pre earthquake edition, with the Kakei seal. Pictures are taken outdoor, in the shade, to reflect true colors, without any enhancements of any kind. The last picture is taken indoor, with a light behind the print, to reveal the exact paper grain, holes if any, or other possible flaws. Scene is of a tree blowing in the wind along with various brightly colored birds. Printed on heavy stock paper with pencil signature 70, title, & 22/100 in lower margin. Paper 25.0W x 19.75H. Image 17.5W x 14.0H. Artelino Bio: Inagaki was born in Tokyo in 1933. Her teacher was Hiroyuki Tajima. The preferred technique of Akemi Inagaki is woodblock prints. Her art works are characterized by a tranquil elegance and by a restriction to very few colors which are however displayed in many shades. The date of this print as around 1937. It is entitled: “Calm Wind”, and it titled on the lower left corner under the print. It is signed: Hiroshi Yoshida in the lower right corner below the print. The title and signature are faded, so I cannot tell if it is pencil signed or in the print. There is an embossed seal below the signature. The print is in good condition. It has faded and the paper has darkened in the margins. Some of the margins have been trimmed, and are slightly uneven. There is some rippling of the paper, and some light creasing. There are two pin sized holes on the edge of the left margin. I have not tried to clean or restore this image. Paper measures: 15 5/8″ tall by 10 1/2″ wide. Print Size: 12″ tall by 9″ wide.
