He is best known for his charming triptychs, such as this one, of lovely women and children going about their daily lives. Beautiful Nobukazu triptych of young women enjoying an evening of moon viewing at a beautiful garden pond. A wonderful selection for display. Also know as Watanabe Nobukazu, pupil of Yoshu Chikanobu He worked in a variety of genres from pictures of beautiful women (biiinga) to famous views of modernizing Tokyo (kaika-e), including depictions of domestic industrial exhibitions, depictions of the emperor and empress, and war and rebellion prints (senso-e). In pretty nice shape as the pics show with the one on the far right not being straight in the matting and all have some foxing / discoloration to the paper like that seen in the last few pics and it comes exactly as shown.
