Original Antique Japanese Woodblock Print x50 Shunga Playing Cards Parodying One Hundred People, One Poem Each (Ogura Hyakunin Isshu), which featured of 100 cards. These poems or poets were put into playing cards used in the card game Uta-garuta , which is a matching game of pairing he same poet and poem together. I tried to place which ones I thought were pairs based on images bc I cant read the text. In this comic shunga reinterpretation, there are only 50 cards, perhaps owing to the fact that these images are mostly composed of at least two people, when the original “Uta-garuta” cards had each one image on each playing card. Each card size is 2 x 3 / 30 cards. Condition – With excellent color and details, some small holes (most professionally repaired), rips, and stains (back of cards), but in overall very good care and condition. Please note: These are not to be played with. The item “Original Japanese Woodblock Print x50 Shunga Playing Cards(Ogura Hyakunin Isshu)” is in sale since Monday, October 5, 2020.
